Never a Lonely Cottage When you Need One...

This is starting to get ridiculous!

Fuming, you force your way through another overgrown set of branches, snapping several and having the others whack back at you. You've been looking for somewhere decent to kip for over 2 hours now. The forest is definitely losing its night-time appeal. At least the castle had corridors and rooms.

Your progress has slowed to a lethargic, belly-bouncing trudge. Good grief, you didn't imagine that being so heavy could be so HEAVY. You pause for breath, leaning against a tree, which creaks under the strain of supporting you. You give yourself an encouraging belly pat. You're doing well. You're still going, even after 3 hours of dull, aimless and now damn-well boring walking. All you need to find is somewhere to stay, and you'll be fine. After all, there's bound to be- you grope for possibilities in unfamiliar territory- an old hotel, or some lonely old cottage or something. Even a barn would do!

You start off again, but in the time you've been still a tree root has grown over your foot, so you go sprawling immediately. ARGH! That tears it! You march off, fuming and kicking at the flora. The next clearing you come to, no matter what kind of accomodation it has, you're stopping right there and not moving until its daylight!

Surprisingly, you almost immediately find a very faint track through the trees, barely wide enough for you to squeeze along. A few minutes after follwing it through dense and otherwise inpenetrable forest, you come out into a clearing which contains...
