...and she found a mouse.

The doctor and yourself aren't very far into the day's work when Doris comes running into the laboratory with the "lottery look" on her face. "Doctor! I found a mousie in the hallway not thirty minutes ago!" She clearly has it with her now, as there is something moving in her hands.

"That's nice", says the doctor in an annoyed voice, never looking up from his work.

"Doctor, the mousie wants to tell you a secret, don't you mousie?" Even though she seemed fine before, this woman is clearly delusional. You begin to doubt that, however, when you hear a muffled confirmation coming from between her hands.

You have no time to reflect on this, as the doctor responds, “Oh? Just like horsie and piggy and doggie?”

“No, mousie is special.”

She uncovers her hands to reveal a gray mouse sitting on its hind legs. It distinctly says, “Now first things first, I don’t ever want to be called ‘mousie’ again!” You nearly faint.
