Dancing With Werewolves

"I hate you!" Princess Lola shrills as you rush her out of the castle.

"Because I'm beautiful?" you joke, eyes alert for tickling spiders, vengeful guards or over-the-top leprechauns.

"You are not beautiful. If you have passed by a mirror of late, you might have noticed that you a rather bulky, shaggy weredog!"

"We prefer the term lycanthrope, thank you very much!"

You take refruge in the woodlands north of the cliche castle.

The Princess' demeanor softens, not the least because you chivalrously take her upon your shoulders to save the delicate skin of her petal-soft soles. "I, uh, didn't mean to suggest that you were ugly. Just..."

"No offense taken, M'Lady."

"You've had a hard time of it, eh?"

You set her down on a gentle bed of leaves beneath an oddly shaped tree. "You might say that."

"If it makes you feel any better, I've been the victim of many a spell and deception myself."

You sniff the air, regard the tree. "Where are we?"

"The Forest of Wishes and Dreams."

"Are we safe here?"

"Oh, yes. I come here often." She stretches endearingly, fixes a seductive smile on her angelic face. "You can make any wish you have come true here. The only prerequesite is... that you be in love!"

You stare at her, then brighten. You gaze upon her with adoration and butterflies in your stomach. Her silky hair, piercing eyes, slender form and inviting aura- you are in love! Suddenly, you feel your own body transform and, miracle of miracles, you are... yourself, the leprechaun's evildoing undone!

Princess Lola stands, blushes.

As you step forward to take your love in your arms, the tree creaks noisily and begins to reach for you both.
