As you run through the hallway, an alarm blares. You race for the end, but are cut off when a large metal door slams down in front of you. You make as though to head back the other way, but another metal door slams down there as well, trapping you completely. A small nozzle emerges from the ceiling and sprays some kind of gas into the enclosure, and you start to feel dizzy and weak. As you collapse, you could swear you hear the Countess' evil laughter just before passing out.

When you awaken, the first thing you notice is that you are once again submerged in water, having taken on your fish-like form once more. When you surface and look around, you see that you are contained in a large pool of water, modeled to imitate a lake, with large rocks on the edge preventing escape but still allowing you to pull yourself halfway out. You look around some more and find that your pool is on one side of a large indoor field, not too far removed from what you'd see at the zoo, though this one is a good deal larger. You also notice that your fellow victims are here as well: Jane (the centaur) and Gary (the minotaur) are both starting to awaken from their positions on the ground, and Celia (the harpy) is coming to on what seems to be an artificial cliff.

Finally you notice Mary (the tree-girl) standing not too far from your 'pool'. The thick roots that were once her legs have indeed taken root in the soft ground of what you must assume is your new prison. Her legs seem to have fused together and thickened so she is essentially a tree from the waist down, literally rooted in one spot.

As you all regain consciousness (Mary looking more miserable than ever), the Countess' voice sounds out from nowhere. "Thought you could escape? Well, too bad! No one escapes from me! You're here for the rest of your lives, so you might as well get used to it! Ha!" The Countess' voice fades as she chuckles evilly. At this declaration, Mary begins to wail once again, and the other three begin squabbling amongst themselves. You sigh (sort of - it still sounds a bit like a shriek) and dive underwater.

You swim in tight circles, muttering to yourself (as best you can) while trying to figure a way out. But it seems impossible. Even if there was a way out of the enclosure, both you and Mary would still be unable to escape- you are trapped in your pool and Mary is rooted to the ground. Eventually deciding to rest on it, you settle down at the bottom of the pool and try to take a nap.

Sometime later, you are jostled awake by the water frothing about. You quickly surface to find the entire enclosure shaking as though caught in an earthquake. A mound of dirt pushes up near the center of the enclosure, and grows larger before giving way to a large silver spike, which continues to push up and out of the ground. The earth breaks open, revealing that the spike is really a drill, on the front of a large, futuristic-looking beige tank. You and your companions stare at the tank in shock and confusion, as several curses issue forth from its interior. A hatch opens and out climbs a rather odd person. The person is a man, in his late 20s, tall and wiry with spiky black hair, dressed in a black jacket and beige slacks. He mutters to himself some more before finally looking around. You can only imagine what is going through his head as he stares at all of you in obvious shock. "Okay," he says finally, "What is going on here?"
