Double Dragon

As you open your eyes, you look into the muzzle of... You?!!

You scream, and jerk yourself to your feet, while your mirror image does the same. Then you realize this dragon is not your complete mirror image. He is the same color, height, and type of dragon you are, except... he is the image of you before you woke up in the supermarket with a ton of flab.

The two of you circle each other, each staring wide-eyed at the other. You raise a right talon, he raises his left; you stand up on your back talons, he does the same; you reach out and touch his nose. "HEY!!", he yells, rubbing his nose. You jump back, almost toppling over again. In fact you would have, if he hadn't darted forward and pulled you back upright. "Careful" he says in a voice of amazement. You both drop to all fours and he continues to circle you and study you. Finally, he puts a taloned claw to your flabby side and shakes it. Your side jiggles, sending a tingling sensation through your body. "Wooooow" he says. "Hey, that tickles", you laugh, "Stop it!". Your image takes his hand away. "Sorry, it's just... you're the strangest version of me I've ever seen"

At this point, you actually look about you. The city is gone. There isn't even a village. Instead, there is a vast plain with many hills, and atop one stands a very familiar castle. You turn your attention back to 'you'. "What?" Your slim double looks as if he's come to a sudden realization. "Oh, so you don't know about dimensional jumps", he says. "Well, the short version is, you crossed into my reality, I'm this dimension's version of you, and you're your dimension's version of me."

You give a look of utter confusion. The other you sighs. "Guess it's the long version, then." He clears his throat. "Every choice we make in life creates a new and different outcome. When we make these choices, a timeline splits in different directions, one for each choice. The different dimensions are made up of these choices, so that no two dimensions are exactly the same. Sometimes, in certain places, a line momentarily crosses, creating a small vortex that leaves the signatures of a world on corresponding dimensions. These vortexes make it possible for a person from one dimension to jump from one timeline to another, and vice versa, which is what happened to you. Understand?" You shake your head in utter confusion. "Ahh, to hell with it," he says, exasperated. He sticks out a taloned claw, "I'm Drake". You shake his talon, still confused.
