The threatened cloud has passed away

Koko listens to your reasoning, and turns to Nanki-Poo. "I agree. It grieves me, but I'll do it," says Koko. Nanki-Poo grins. "Well," he says, "call the others back here." Koko does so, and the crowd returns. Explaining the situation, Koko yields Nanki-Poo to Yum-Yum, who is clearly quite happy about this turn of events. Apparently, Yum-Yum and Nanki-Poo had been secretly in love for quite some time. Yum-Yum turns to Koko, and asks: "What has led to this remarkable turn of events?"

Koko muses for a moment, then replies, "Well, my dear, I love you with a passion tender, you understand, but I love myself with a passion tenderer still." A stout man grunts. "How touching." Koko looks annoyed. "Quiet, Pooh-Bah. Anyway, you two will marry today, and, a month from now, I will perform the unpleasant business of decapitation, and I will marry Yum-Yum." He turns to Nanki-Poo. "You won't prejudice her against me, will you?" he asks, "I have convinced her that I am a wise, charming, virtuous man." "Don't worry," replies Nanki-Poo, "She'll never learn the truth from me."

Pooh-Bah proposes a toast to Nanki-Poo: "Long life to you- till then!" All cheer, and Nanki-Poo breaks into song, as appears to be the local custom:

Nanki-Poo: "The threatened cloud has passed away,"

Yum-Yum: "And brightly shines the dawning day!"

Nanki-Poo: "And though the night should come too soon,"

Yum-Yum: "We've yet a month of afternoon!"

All: "Then let the throng its joy advance with loving song and merry dance!"

They continue on in this vein for a while, but are suddenly interrupted when a large, elderly woman charges into their midst. This must be Katisha. She sings: "Hold bride and bridegroom, ere ye wed each other... Oh, wrong operetta." She looks around in her kimono for a script, then turns to you. "Would you happen to know the line?"
