Up: Game 2  Up: Game 2 Outline

Our warriors, in serried ranks assembled.

You notice a building nearby that could offer you a hiding place. You run up the first set of steps without looking back. Unfortunately, you run up the next set of steps without looking down, and find yourself lying prostrate on the ground, tripped by your kimono. The warriors catch up to you and draw menacing wooden swords.

Wooden swords?

Koko steps forward and says, "I really must apologize. We mistook you for the escaped son of the Mikado. There is a reward for his return." You ask for a clarification. "The Mikado is our emperor. His son, the heir to the throne, was engaged to marry a rather elderly lady named Katisha. He fled under the guise of a wandering minstrel to avoid the forced marriage. You see the problem. The Mikado will be visiting soon, and we might be able to avoid having to execute somebody if we find his son."

And why the wooden swords?

"If we carried metal ones, somebody might get hurt."

This is strange. Why couldn't you be trapped in Ruddigore, or the Pirates of Penzance, or even H.M.S. Pinafore. You need to find a way out of here.
