Up: Game 2  Up: Game 2 Outline

Somethings in the air.

After your visit to the donut shop, you don't feel as bad or mad as you did before. You don't know if it was the donut, or the person who gave it to you, but the anxiety you felt disappeared. The donut did hit the spot though, and you feel better as you go through your routines, still trying to work off the weight. Although, now you have a slight detour on your jogs.

Your first few visits, Beth is surprised to see you again, although she still has another texas donut waiting for you each time. You take a few minutes each time to sit down and enjoy it and talk to Beth a bit more. You learn that she inherited the store from her mother after she retired with her father, and all the donuts are recipes handed down through her family. She is at first nervous around you, blushing and trying to hide it. But with reoccurring visits, she begins feeling more comfortable. After you finish you bid her goodbye and resume your jog, though often times you catch her in the corner of your eye watching you from the door. It is clear she has a crush on you, though you'd be afraid of crushing her, given she is a bit over 3 feet. She is a Corgi after all. However, there is no denying she makes you feel better about yourself, an visiting her is probably the only thing you look forward to in your workout. In your day in fact. The lion still has his no pizza rule in place as you still havn't slimmed down, so the only thing you get to have that isn't fruit or salad is your one donut, which you manage to keep as your limit.

As another month rolls by, you go to get weighed again. "Alright, this time we should see results," says Albert, sure that your previous month has been a fluke, and that you had put on muscle under the flab. But as he looks at the screen, his smile disappears. "This can't be right." he says, "It says you gained another 15 pounds."

"Are you using that thing right?" you ask as you step off the weighing platform.

"I'm sure," says Albert, "Are you sure your not snacking or anything?" he says. "Albert, the only thing I get is a single donut, the rest is salad, and I gained 12 pounds last month without that." you say. "I don't think that is the problem."

"The only thing I can think of then is your metabolism is shot." he says, "I mean, you took off weight easily before, and now it's like pulling teeth. Maybe if I add some supplements..." he says, brainstorming what is going wrong.

Despite the bad news... you don't feel quite as upset. You feel sure Albert will figure it out... but it will take more time, which means you can jog to Beth's shop longer...
