Small indulgence

Right now your stuck like this, and you need to adapt to it, you tell yourself. And apparently being a demon means feeling... smelling... whatever you would call it, the desires or indulgence that others feel. It's not like it's hurting Fred for you to just enjoy him enjoying his food. So you just sit there, watching, and soaking in... whatever it is that it is.

"I feel bad," says Fred between bites, "I mean, I can't imagine just suddenly not being able to eat at all. And I'm just eating in front of you, it feels a bit... mean." he says.

"I'm fine, really," you say, "I don't really feel hungry at all anymore. Its kinda weird like... there's nothing there anymore to put anything in, so I don't feel empty, and I don't feel full." You try to explain it as Fred takes another helping of pancakes, and you feel another wave of that sensation.

"So... your not bothered by it?" he asks.

"Well. " you say, "I think I will miss it, ice cream, pizza, just... flavors in general. But that's just how it is now, so I'm trying not to let it get to me just yet."

"Yeah, I guess." he agrees, "There are going to be a lot of adjustments." he puts his fork down, which clinks against the empty plate. "Ohhh, I must have been hungry," he says, having finished the tray. He gets up and takes his plate to the sink, rinsing it off. You savor the sensation for a little bit before he comes back for the tray and begins cleaning it as well.

Albert then walks in, "Angela is going to come here," he says, "She suggests we don't go pursuing the demon without her. Just try to keep a low profile and take note of anything strange going on in the city so we can figure out where the Demon has gone."

"What about... me?" you ask, "What did she say?"

He is silent for a moment, "I... didn't exactly mention you." he says.

"What?" you ask, somewhat shocked, "This is serious! I'm a demon!"

"Yeah, I know, and that..." says Albert, somewhat unsettled, "Look, your my best friend... you and Fred. Angela is a big time supernatural expert, but... I'm afraid." he admits, "I'm scared she may... not be able to do anything. And she may say.... well... she may say we need to banish you to hell as well."

You freeze up, as that fact some to you, you could very well belong in hell now. What if she does do that?

"So... I don't want to risk... coming out with you right now, I want to talk to her first and see if there is any other option." He says.

"But..." you say, "What if their aren't any other options?" The fear in your voice is palpable. You are all silent on that.

"We'll find one," says Albert finally, trying to look reassuring to you. "Anyway, I need to hit the gym." he says, his tone changing to a more jovial one, "And hey, you don't need to lose weight anymore so... you want to come along?"

"Or you can hang out with me." says Fred, "I know hanging around here probably isn't exciting, but I could use some help... repairing the floor?"

You look at the big hole in the floorboards from when you broke through it. Maybe you should stay and help Fred, but they, you do want to get out of the house, maybe even see if you can get a beat on where the demon went...
