Assault and Defense

You grab the gun and load in some ammo before firing at the vehicles. But the gun backfires with a BANG, exploding dust into your face. You look at it and see for the first time that the thing is obviously ancient. Many parts are fragile, and the barrel is rusted almost completely shut. The thing is useless. That explains why it was abandoned, you think

You turn to run, despite the fact that you are much too slow. Within seconds, you are surrounded. One particularly large man gets off his motorcycle and approaches you, a vicious gleam in his eyes. "Well, well, what do we have here?" he says in a hard gruff voice, a nasty grin on his face. "An ol' dog and a li'l lady. Heh heh."

Another one pipes up. "What'cha ya wants'ta do wi' 'em, boss?"

The boss chuckles. "Whadda ya think? The dog is useless, but Ah think we c'n find a use fer da girl." The smirk on his face shows exacly what he means, and you cower as he steps forward.

"I don't think so!" a new voice calls out. You feel a rush of air and a powerful force slam against you. You suddenly realize you are no longer standing before the gang. You are seated with Fred in the sidecar of a hovering motorcycle, piloted at high speed by yet another mysterious stranger. He is wearing a silver helmet and desert goggles, obsuring his reatures. He also wears a black biker jacket over a white shirt, and tan pants. You are understandibly shocked, but grateful for the timely rescue.

"Who are you?" you ask, shouting above the roaring wind.

"Introductions later!" the stranger responds, and when you look back, you see he is right. The gang is already in hot pursuit. "Hold on tight!" calls the stranger, as he turns his hoverbike off the road and into the desert. The glass windshield at the front of the sidecar protects you from the oncoming sand, but even so you cannot tell where he's taking you, as there are no landmarks in the desert. You briefly consider jumping out (just in case this guy also means to harm you), but quickly dismiss the thought - first, the gang is still chasing you with ATVs, second, bailing out at this speed would be a very bad idea, and third, you still have no idea where you are.
