A whole new existance

The next morning, as the day begins, one of the palace aides goes to dress you despite your resistance and struggling. Eventually another aide is called to hold you still while the first dresses you in silky white panties and socks, followed by a simple silk dress, finishing with silver shoes. The instant you are released, you try to tear off the girly clothes, only to receive a hard slap across the face by the aide. You are then led into another room, where the aide holds you still while another brushes your waist-length golden-colored hair before braiding it down your back.

After you are prepared, you are brought down to the Great Hall where you see the King and Queen for the first time. The King is a stern-faced middle-aged man with a thin beard, and the Queen maintains a vain, self-important look. It is here that you are first told of the courts' decision to raise you as Chantelle. You protest vehemently, trying to say that they have no right to decide your life, but you just receive another hard slap.

"In this Kingdom," the King begins, "we do have the right. And we have decided that you will be Chantelle, and that is final!"

And with that, your fate is sealed. From that day forth, you are woken up each morning by trainers and aides who force you into the same (or an identical) girly outfit as the first. They work hard to force you to become 'Lady Chantelle', punishing you when you resist. If you do not respond to the name "Chantelle", they slap you. If you complain about what they're doing, they slap you. If you whine or cry, they slap you, saying that it is unacceptable.

Finally, one day about a month later (you're not sure exactly), you are again woken up by the aides. When they go to dress you, you flinch, but as though subconsciously mindful of getting slapped, you do not struggle, nor do you try to tear off the outfit as before. You briefly wonder why, knowing that you want to, yet you can't bring yourself to do it. You also fail to resist when the aids do your hair as before - they don't even have to hold you down. You realize with a start that their vicious punishments have taken effect, and your vicious resistance has degraded to a mere reluctance. You even automatically respond when someone calls for "Chantelle", even though you know that isn't who you are.

You are again brought before the King, and inform him of their progress. The King nods. "Now that the child has become Chantelle," he says, "it is time to truly begin. I want Chantelle to be a true Lady."

And so it is. Over the few days, the aides teach you the very basics, guiding you in dressing yourself and in doing your own hair (of course, slapping you when you don't comply). It only takes a few days for you to learn how to prepare yourself perfectly on your own, but another week for them to force you to into doing it yourself every day.

Then the real training begins. They teach you everything that a girl of your position should know, rewarding you when you comply and punishing you when you don't. They teach you etiquette and deportment, punishing you not only when you fail or refuse in training but also when out, so that it eventually it ingrains itself into your subconscious and it becomes automatic and second-nature. Meanwhile, you are educated by the finest tutors around so that you may be intelligent as well. You find the tutors to be to your liking, as they merely admonish you when you fail, rather than hitting you. The King also brings in a physical trainer to help you get in shape (since a true Lady cannot be the slightest bit overweight). You are even taught recreational activities befitting of a fine Lady, including horseback riding (which you are good at) and, surprisingly, archery (which you are terrible at). The King considers making you learn dancing as well, but decides to put it off until the time comes when you will actually need to use it.

As the time passes, and weeks turn to months, and months to years, your mind gradually begins to shift. At first, you despised being Chantelle, then you grew to endure it, then learned to tolerate it, before finally moving on to acceptance. As much as you know you shouldn't, you think of yourself as Chantelle in your mind, and gradually even begin to enjoy the royal treatment you get as her (despite the fact that you are still miffed at being her).

As you get older and reach puberty, you realize that your mind wasn't as transformed as you thought. You are put on edge slightly as your body develops standard-size breasts, but you quickly adjust within a couple days. What you can't get over, though, is that your female body responds to boys. Though you are not surprised, you are sickened and horrified. So when the King announces on your 14th birthday (which was decided as the day you were brought in to the palace) that you are arranged to be wed to a Prince William of a neighboring kingdom, you let out an involuntary yelp and dash for your room, where you slam and lock the door.

You hear a soft chuckling and a smooth male voice say "Well I wasn't expecting that." You turn around slowly to see a cloaked and hooded figure leaning against the far wall. The figure's long black cloak obscures its features, and its gold-lined hood obscures its face.

"Who are you?!" you demand. You are heavily shaken by all the recent events, but you don't want to let it show. After all, it had been drilled into your subconscious not to show weakness.

"A good question," comes the figure's same smooth male voice. "If you must call me something, call me Dakis. But for now, at least, who I am does not matter. You, however, are someone I have been waiting for for a long time."
