What a ride on Halfie the Humantaur

You're sore and half asleep, but your dreams are so disjointed and upsetting that you groggily awaken... to realize that you are holding onto the muscular shoulders of someone, and your four legs are being pummelled from underneath, like you're straddling something in motion. You realize further, as you tighten your grip on the shoulder muscles, that you're being carried along on horseback or something. But it's not a horse, because it's - it's got four human legs; and it's not an it, but a guy. As your mind clears, you realize that you've been rescued by another humantaur!

You're still too dazed to think or say much, but you're able to concentrate on keeping your hands on the guy's shoulders and keeping your four legs atop his earth-pounding hindquarters, his four human legs working furiously beneath you to carry you along. He feels your shift of position as you straighten up and look around to get your bearings, and introduces himself to you.

"Hi, I'm Halfie the Humantaur," he says, glancing back only for a second, so he doesn't cause his four legs and four bare feet to stumble and bring both of you falling to earth. "You feeling okay? You took quite a licking."

"I've read about you on the Internet," you tell him, thanking him for the rescue. It's true, too. You've seen Halfie the Humantaur mentioned on a website, which describes him as a well-built young man with four human legs who wears his blonde hair in a ponytail and goes barechested and barefooted. You look down at the four legs running underneath your own four legs, and sure enough, it must be Halfie the Humantaur. He's running his four legs barefooted, wearing jeans on his front legs and on his back legs, held together by a belt that crosses between them. You're sitting on it as you ride the short, slightly curved spine between his front and back pelvises. You realize that your four feet are probably slowing his four legs down, getting in the way of his stride, but he hasn't complained. So you hold your legs out a little bit, to make it easier for his four legs to run. The wind feels good on your four bare feet, and you're grateful that he came out of nowhere.

"I read that your hind legs have a mind of their own," you tell Halfie the Humantaur, remembering what you read about his hind legs not cooperating with his front legs, causing him to trip, in the website where you read about him.

"They do," Halfie says, "but I think they wanted to help me save you, because I'm making great time and all four of my legs are running beautifully."

"I'm really grateful to them," you tell Halfie, and you reach down and give Halfie an affectional pat on his hind rump to let his galloping hind legs know you're appreciative.

Halfie laughs as he runs joyfully on his four legs, carrying you along. "They can hear you through my ears, since we're all the same four-legged body," Halfie explains to you.

That's cool, you think to yourself. "What was that I read about you and the King's two daughters?" you ask Halfie the Humantaur, referring to the stuff you read about Halfie on the Web. "Didn't you save them or something?"
