Janine explains

You try to move, but cannot. As you watch helplessly, Janine chants some strange incantation. Irene, who is still unconscious, lets out a scream ... then falls quiet.

"Stop!", you cry, "You're hurting her!"

"That is the idea", Janine sneers. "Allow me to truly introduce myself. I am Janine Sorcerresia, TRUE leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Wizards and Werecreatures. I will reveal the rest later. Anyway, get in your cell." With those words, you are suddenly transported to a cell with Irene. Irene still looks normal ... but you begin to wonder what she might become.
