To the surprise of absolutely no one in the whole wide world, the bite causes you to feel strange. Though no change immediately is visible, you have to lie down at once. Fred grumbles something about clichés and predictability, but you are too self-absorbed to listen closely. After a while, you begin to itch. "Fred! It's happening!" you cry. "I feel better already!"
Fred claps his paws together, and the humming in your head abruptly stops. "Darn mosquito," he grunts, and you suddenly realise the cause of your itch. But you remain hopeful that you soon will undergo a miraculous transformation, and lo and behold, you do!
