Sirens, Song and Silence

The mustang pulls back onto the road with a thump. You nearly get tossed out. Damn these clothes are tight! I can't hardly move. In a fit of anger you stomp on the brakes. The car spins and halts in the middle of the road. I finally have a chance to look at myself. Looking down for an instant I wonder about the tight dress. Is this how I am going to die, As a woman in distress. The flashing lights bring my attention back up to road. They seem to envelope the universe. The scream seems to pierce the very essence of my soul. The lights pass by at incredible speed. Whew! I thought I was dead. The radio suddenly comes to life and a song is playing. How strange, I can't seem to place it. It's then that I notice the tall black figure standing next to the car. His badge shines in the mirror, terror strikes deep in my soul, what am I going to say?
